Pastor’s Testimony and brief history of TTTBC

I am Pastor Roel D. Camarillas of The Thessalonian Trinity Baptist Church in San Jose Batangas Philippines. I am 37 years of age and is happily married to Sister Edith V. Camarillas with 3 blessed children namely: Kathlyn Grace - 11 years old, James Israel - 8 years old and Christine Ann – 4 years old.

I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior in May 1985 and was baptized June of the following year. I followed the Lord’s calling in my life and became a fulltime worker in Good Shepherd Baptist Church August of 1988. In April 1992 by God’s amazing grace I graduated in the Good Shepherd Baptist Theological College. June 13 of the same year, God led me to start a pioneering mission work in San Jose Batangas Philippines wherein I am now pastoring.  San Jose Batangas is a Catholic town, where it’s locals strongly believes in the teaching of the Catholic Church. This is a Catholic domineering place, that’s why it’s very hard here to win one person to Christ. In fact, we have experienced seven times of transferring of our rented house of worship from different places. But praise God because in spite of all these things, God’s work is still moving and growing, first from quality to quantity. It was March 14, 1993 when the regular indoor worship service started (Sunday worship and Sunday school: 8:00-11:00, Young People’s Fellowship: 1:30-3:30, Gospel Hour 3:30-6:00 and Wednesday regular prayer meeting: 7:00-9:00pm and Wednesday midnight prayer meeting is every other Wednesday). In our first service God blessed us with 27 adult attendees. In March 1995 God allowed us to become an organized Bible believing indigenous, independent local Baptist Church with chartered members of 27 baptized believers. As of now, by God’s mighty hand we are averaging at about 90 attendees composed of children and adults. We have a regular soul winning and regular church soul winning every Friday. One of the main goals of our church is to become a part of worldwide mission. We are now supporting 15 missionaries (5 local and 10 foreign: Vietnam, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Mongolia, and other third world countries: we’re supporting them even in a little amount just to be a part of God’s worldwide ministry) because we believe that the very heartbeat of the church of God is Mission.
